Mari McCabe was originally from Nigeria, but her family were wanted by a group of Nigerian terrorists. They sent Mari off to America illegally by a boat. When she arrived, she was found and taken in by a younger Carmine Falcone. He took her in and sold her to the prostitution industry when she was 15.She lived like this through her whole life, but there was a light on her journey. A token from her homeland was found in a box she'd brought with her. Her mother had placed it in a secret compartment, hidden within. It was the Tantu Totem, a mythical accessory which in the stories gave the wearer the abilities of any animal they wished for. This came to be true as she tried it out. With it, she put the her 'boss' in prison. This gave her the idea to use the abilities for the greater good. The job she stuck with but as her own boss. It kept bringing the money in.
So now she fights crime along side the Justice League by the name of 'Vixen', the name her old boss gave her.
