What if this AU from MasakoX participated? Let me say that this happens in a version of Gine's universe where the events of Dragon Ball Super never occured, with the only elements of that era being Gine herself and how Kakarot is sent to Earth. Another small detail is my own change, being that after Cell is defeated they use the Dragon Balls to revive the dead and that would bring the androids too.

While at first they're gonna ask Shenron to leave those two out of the wish, Krilin intervenes and with Goku's assistance, 17 and 18 are revived without their bombs, who end up moving in with Android 16 (Who survive the Cell Games in this reality) and eventually becoming allies to the Z Fighters. This compassion against the enemy happens once more in the Buu Saga, where Mr. Satan asks for Good Buu's revival and since the Majin had lost its evil side, decided to grant him that wish.
