I guess everyone seems to harbour concerns that he isn't getting any: people all want to see Art and SOME kind of female in a.... "situation"

Unless she's stronger than he is, I'd think he could just walk up to a cop or security guard and say, "Get these off us." Hillary would have to be able to slip the key onto Art without him knowing in order to make things look worse for him, and if he realizes he's got the key he'll be trying to unlock them.
And what I'd want to see is Art and Kat "innocently" sharing sleeping arrangements. Passed out on the couch, cuddled for warmth in a stranded car, unknowingly sharing a bed...
IMO, the "best" situation would be if each of them (separately) realized what was going on but refused to do anything to change it. (Kat: "He's -- warm, and I feel safe." Art: "She'd get mad, and I kinda like... *zzz*")
