And the naysayers wonder why I don't listen to them....You shouldn't either! If you feel in your gut that it's the right course of action; it usually is.
(.....unless your gut tells you to "go play in traffic". Cuz your gut's not telling you the right course of action, there. It's trying to kill you.)
Wonder where I'd be right now if I'd listened to those teachers and focused on learning all those important skills that I've never found a use for in the real world?
I'm guessing; Data Entry.

honestly I'm in the opposite position in college doing something i don't like because I'm not skilled enough or have enough connections to do what i love. I struggle through it and am graded on the three things i hate the most. Group projects, Multiple choice tests and oral presentations..
I just want it to be over so i can work get some money move out and draw and play music or stream video games in my spare time, and not bang my head over textbooks.

I know that feel... I'm 19, been drawing seriously for about 6 years now I think, and I'm pretty much in the biggest shitstorm of my life so far. Long story short; mix of the first and third panel. The problem is it's an entire school telling me I'm not going anywhere. I'm sort of wondering if me tuning them out is justified or not, but then again, they're telling me to quit altogether. They don't realize I literally can't. Trust me, I've tried, but at one point I just go insane with all the ideas piling up in my head and darnit, I've picked up the old drawing paper again. Love the comic, keep up the good work, and fuck the haters. ^^

Following a 4 month assignment with IBM as a tech writer, I visited my High School during exam week. I ran into my English teacher and told her that I had been working as a tech writer. I was gob-smacked when she said, "What's a tech writer?" ( If you're not sure either, [link] )
