Now, normally, Bruce is a pretty timid guy, quick to run away from a fight. But when push comes to shove, he's less than hesitant to get his hands dirty, either for self-defence, to protect others, and/or to fight for what's right. This proves it when he hangs onto a Possessed Ana's hair just to punch her eye out.
