Description June 22, 2013

I've been wanting to write a novel about Bodacious Creed (this picture is from my Bodacious Creed thesis) since I started working on my demo reel. I'm creating a Kickstarter project now so that I can afford to write and publish his story!

The Facebook fan page is here: [link]

If you like Steampunk, zombies, the Wild West, or horror, you'll love this.

Previous Notes:

I have a second artist on concept art team for my thesis! This is great, because both are fantastic artists, and it spreads out the work a little more. Since I'll be doing my Midpoint Review toward the end of July, and I need professionally bound copies of my thesis proposal, I've set an end of June deadline for all the concept art and turntables.

The new illustrator is fellow Academy of Art MFA student, Allison Stigall, . Allison will be doing the concept images of the coyote and the brothel.

She did this wonderful sketch of the steam-cybernetic coyote character, the companion to undead US Martial, Robert "Bodacious" Creed.

I'm thinking up a name for the Coyote now. The other characters are all named, and this awesome pet needs a name as well.

Why am I having concept art for a thesis? Read all about it in my blog! [link] . There's information in the sidebar summing up the project, but you can also read about it from before I even had an idea of what I was going to do.

I'll share more of Allison's concept art as she completes it.

Thank you! There are updated versions of Coconino, the coyote, in my gallery. I've been modeling the other characters for my thesis, but of course am also eager to get to this guy!

Thank you! You should check out my blog on this project. I had so much fun coming up with what I'm going to do for my thesis, and I think it's pretty unique. If you like the coyote, you'll enjoy the rest of it.

It looks like fun, and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

You mentioned names on your blog, and that you're having a hard time finding one. Something that I do sometimes when I want a name for a historical piece, is look up what names were popular around that time period. So, names like John, William, and James were popular for the boys; Mary, Elizabeth, and Margaret were common with the ladies. Or, you could name him (her?) some popular features of the Arazonian wilderness, like Creosote or Yucca or Dune. Or maybe a place name, like Phoenix or Mojave or Tucson, perhaps explained as the location Bodacious first met/adopted him/her.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking of place names, so what I may do is see what Arazona cities had been founded by that time.
