Genus and Species: Allosaurus jimmadseni
Meaning: James H. Madsen Jr's Other Reptile
Original Time Span and Range: Throughout the United States, around 150 MYA
Size and Mass on average: 25 feet long by 8 feet tall at 2 tons
Spliced with (whenever applicable): The Great Auk (Select specimens courtesy of the Chicago Field Museum) and American Alligator
Individuals cloned: 4
INGEN Notes: As with our Jurassic animals, Allosaurus is the most sampled theropod in the Morrison Formation and chances are that the clones may exhibit traits from other species, and perhaps even related genera (e.g. Saurophaganax). In our preserve, the clones demonstrate a relatively lethargic behavior, akin to that of a big cat. Like tigers or jaguars, they do have a fascination with water and all four of them would rest on their own side of their pond. Oddly, if because they were well fed, the "Allos" don't mind Rexy when she walks along the fencing between their enclosures.
