Technically very good, pin sharp on most of the feathers and with a nice vibrant reddy orange colour

wow nice o.O I wish my camera was able to do that >.< Because mine is not going to get so clear when I zoom, but then again I just have a crappy camera .

Hehe, I have been using compact cameras for many years until last year, and certainly there is a difference with DSLRs from a quality point of view.
But it is also possible to get beautiful shots with a compact one: all my gallery pics (apart for the last one "another robin zoom") were taken with my old compact cameras...
And, as another example, your gallery pics are also nice
