February's "Community Creations" theme is memes, so I knew I had to make something weird yet charming.
I had trouble thinking of what to draw, but then I remembered something. Poptropica's homepage used to have a banner featuring a cast of characters, including one that looked like a recolor of Amelia (the game's tutorial character). Here's a comparison image for context: sta.sh/028dapzrpruc

Inspired by this, I redrew one of the many infamous screenshots from the 1960's Spiderman TV series to star Amelia and her recolored double. I was originally going to draw this in my Poptropica style, but I thought sticking to the Spiderman anatomy was a lot funnier (and somewhat cursed). I had a lot of fun experimenting with the linework and filters to create the VHS effects.

Is it possible to simultaneously love and hate something so much?
