So they remind her of Adam West, and Burt Ward...wonder why. They should be lucky though...she's not knocking them off her building.

It's too bad Casey didn't mention the other famous Batman/Robin cartoon voice team of 1968 to the 1970's - Olan "Batman" Soule and Casey "Robin" Kasem.

Speaking of Casey Kasem (famous for his 1970-1988 and 1998-2004 American Top 40 radio countdown show) : What if Casey Kasem met Batduck and Decoy and mentioned it was his own cartoon voice character of Robin he used to do? Or maybe one of Casey Kasem's other voice characters of the cartoon world (Mark of Battle of the Planets original 1978 English dub, Peter Cottontail from Rankin-Bass Here Comes Peter Cottontail, Alexander Cabot from Hanna-Barbera's Josie and the Pussycats, Groove from the Catanooga Cats, Flakey Flakem from a Tiny Toon episode where Plucky thought Hamton became a HOMOCIDAL MANIAC), Calgary Kasem from a Histeria! episode, and notably...Shaggy from Scooby Doo. (They could even be in a "Casey Kasem voiced" drawing in the future) showed up to meet Batduck and Decoy?)

What's GENRE SAVY?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Jose-Ramiro In reply to dth1971 [2012-09-03 05:00:08 +0000 UTC]

Someone who's extremely knowledgeable about the 'genre' his/her adventures are portrayed and uses it to his/her advantage.

For example, a 'genre savvy' Bond villain wouldn't' leave Bond alone in a deathtrap until realizing he's really dead; this villain would be genre savvy enough to know a super spy usually escapes the deathtraps when nobody is watching him.

Slappy is 'genre savvy' because she is an expert in toon tricks, so she can recognize them with ease, and she already knows how a scene will end from the very beginning.

It's when a character in a show is aware of cliches and tropes in movies and TV shows.

Frozen-Empire In reply to ??? [2012-09-02 10:00:04 +0000 UTC]

She met them in person, lucky her. But isnt that a bit insultfull to them? Not Buttduck and Decoy I mean.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jose-Ramiro In reply to Frozen-Empire [2012-09-03 05:00:48 +0000 UTC]

Nah, it's part of her character. When meeting someone, she would say 'You remind me of a young - X -', not as an insult but as a comparison.

Frozen-Empire In reply to Jose-Ramiro [2012-09-03 11:28:28 +0000 UTC]

At this case though it is a bit insulting. They are not even trying to be heros. ^^
