I dunno if Mr. Balboa trained Eva or not. Defense was never his strong point and the only reason he went so far was because his bones were seemingly made of steel and his brain was incredibly resistant to damage from concussions.
It was only Mr. Drago that managed to inflict some brain damage on him, and here Eva the second time around has almost no mark on her. Don't remember his name, but I'm wondering if instead Creed's trainer, who took over training Mr. Balboa after both Mickey and Creed died, trained Eva instead and managed to instill in her Creed's ring and defensive skills. Makes me wonder if he did it too to get an idea of how Creed might have done against Drago had they fought with Creed in his prime.

Probably. Still, Eva also has remarkable strength even without that training; in the TD series, she defeats a Sasquatch with her bare hands.

You know, that's one thing that always confused me about the Rocky movies. When Rocky V came around, no one liked Tommy Gunn because he didn't beat anyone good to win the title. What happened to Ivan Drago, or Clubber Lang? Why didn't he ever have to fight them?

Ivan probably got gunned down by the KGB for trying to defect to America, after his quip about fighting for himself, rather than the pride of the motherland and its people...
