Chessboxing, as the name says, it's a fusion sport that combines both chess and boxing, practically a sport for smart athletes or very strong intellectuals.

The basic rules are explained in the pic.

Jimmy certainly dominated the chess part; the boxing one was a different story.

"Well Chuckie, Jimmy is a genius and has probably ended chess games in less than three minutes for lesser opponents, what if he gets the upper handΒ on you during the chess round? Even if you make it to the 2nd round of boxing he may get ya in the third. And Jimmy, Chuckie's skills speak for themselves in the ring, I have no doubts about your skills on the chess board, but how will you handle him in the ring?"

Chuckie- Exactly. That's why this match is so difficult for the both of us. If he can make it to round 3, then I'm most likely to lose.

Jimmy- Well, I've studied his previous battles so I have deduced how he fights, which will give me some edge during the physical confrontation too.

"So you play to strengths and try to endure through your weaknesses. What would you two say in your greatest in the ring and on the board?"

Chuckie- In the ring? My reflexes and skill; and on the board... I'm good at defensive moves.

Jimmy - Mmm... in the ring and the board, it would be my tactical knowledge.

"Hm alright, well this is bound to be an interesting match. Next time we chat we'll have a winner and a loser. Bet of luck to you both."

(Alright then, no worries)

They thank you and get ready for the game/battle.

Chuckie wins in Round 2; he is smart enough to resist the first round of chess with Jimmy, even if Jimmy had the edge through most of the round; in the boxing round, Chuckie is just too much for Jimmy. Even with his smarts, Jimmy isn't strong or fast enough to keep up with him.

"Congratulations Chuckie, after the first round I thought he had you. But you managed to win in the 2nd round, which technically is 1 round of boxing. How were you able to do it? And Jimmy where would you say was the mistake that lead to your defeat?"

Jose-Ramiro In reply to Gadgetboy197 [2018-08-29 09:01:37 +0000 UTC]

Chuckie- Thanks, and well, I barely could keep up with Jimmy in the chess round, so I realized I had to win in the first boxing one or he'd get me on the next chess one. So I didn't hold back.

Jimmy - Β After making a full analysis, considering all the variants and my own fighting performance... *sighs* My mistake was entering the boxing ring against him. I can now calculate that Chuckie is, at the very least, 43% faster, 62% stronger, and 80% more skilled than myself.Β

"Well ChuckieΒ any advice you would Jimmy for future matches? And Jimmy was there any moment where during the match where you thought you could've turned it around?"

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Jose-Ramiro In reply to Gadgetboy197 [2018-08-30 09:12:30 +0000 UTC]

Chuckie- Mostly, that he must balance the training; going 'all skill' or 'all power' isn't the solution, but to use them equally.

Jimmy- Only at the chess part. Once we started boxing, it took me just twelve seconds to realize that Chuckie would overwhelm me and that the best I'd do was resisting until the next chess round, which obviously didn't work.

I see your point.

Chessboxing is pretty much boxing for strong intellectuals, and chess playing for smart athletes.

We where having the first semesters Greek Language exam, and this guy was standing there just looking at his paper, the teacher just gave him the answers book in order just to give him a grade to pass the class and he asked her in what page are the answers......
