This story has become rather a crowd scene with all the Sonic wannabees tangling in, like a pick-up game.
I read the epic "Narrative Corpse" where each artist has to draw one 3-4 panel strip with a stick-figure and only the previous artist's 3-4 panel strip is available for him(her) to continue.No summaries of prior action. (s) he then sends his(her) contribution to the next person on the list. (Mort Walker sent his to S. Clay Wilson).
The merry confusion and occasional porn was incredible. Guest characters seldom ran for more than 3 strips...

YOUR enemies are stupid, but Rouge is very clever. After a topkapi-style theft of a jewel from Station Square, a trap was set for her and she went for the bait,a jewel twin to the one she swiped. Captured, she was visited by Mayor Bulliani in her cell, awaiting trial. He , impressed with her skills, offered her a choice:
(1) Work for Station Square's government as their agent, or
(2) Stand trial as originally intended.
She took option 1, and that's her status now. Sometimes she works with the Freedom Fighters when their paths and purposes mesh.

Nah, not Darkwing's style... besides, he would use his motorcycle, The Ratcatcher. And smacking Rouge... bad idea; the lady can destroy robots the size of elephants with a single kick.

Glad you like it. Yeah, they're quite matched; both are pretty agile and fast, and good fighters; Rouge hits a lot harder but Darkwing can stand lots of damage.

DW: Eww, are those WINGS sticking out of your back?
Rouge: Hey! Just for that-
*Rouge flies off*
DW: Oh, NO you don't! Get back here!
*DW chases, and almost catches up when he realizes he has followed Rouge out of a window... on the 50th floor*
DW: UH-oh...
*DW plummets to the ground*
Rouge: I should help him... but he DID insult me!
*Rouge flies off as DW slams head-first into the pavement below*
DW: Ow.....
*Launchpad and Knuckles run to his aid*
LP: You okay, DW?
DW: Do I LOOK okay? She got away!
Knuckles and DW both fume in anger.
K/DW: Ooh, I'll get that bat!
*both look at each other*
K/DW: No, I WILL! No, ME!

Rouge: Bring it on, witch girl! NOBODY snatches what I stole fair and square and gets away with it.
Darkwing: (to himself) This, however, is starting to get a might TOO dangerous- for me! (fires off an industrial-strength glue bomb shot while Rouge is still distracted dodging Morgana's mystic bolts). Now, batty, let's see how much good those wings do you when you are trapped in super-steel-grip glue! (to Morgana) Thanks for distracting this jigglefest jewel thief, Morg.
Morgana: (slightly annoyed) I wouldn't have NEEDED TO if she hadn't been using her -merchandise - to distract YOU.
Rouge: (snickering, despite being trapped in the glue) Got yourself in hot water with the little lady, huh, Wingy?
Darkwing/Morgana: (at the exact same time) STAY OUT OF THIS!

Darkwing: Precisely. Well, how about WE get out of here before the police arrival to pick up Little Miss Guano and I promise, tomorrow night, YOUR choice where we have dinner.
Morgana: I can live with that.
Darkwing: Now, don't forget to return that jewel you relieved that Catwoman-with-wings of before we leave?
Morgana: (blushes) Whoops. Almost forgot about that. (returns jewel to its proper case)
Rouge: (angrily struggling against the glue as Darkwing and Morgana leave) CATWOMAN WITH WINGS? YOU DARE COMPARE ME TO THAT HAS-BEEN?

(Suddenly, an explosion, and the wall falls in front of them, revealing Shadow.)
SHADOW- Where's Rouge?
ROUGE- OVER HERE! Stuck in the glue!
SHADOW (Angry)- Which of you did this!

Darkwing: (groans) Hoo-boy. This is DEFINITELY getting out of hand. (out loud) Look, I did, but she was steal-
Shadow: I KNOW she was stealing a jewel. That's what she does! She's a thief. But, you have some payback coming, clown!
Darkwing: Bring it on, you freakish amalgam of Negaduck and Sonic.
Shadow: You DARE to compare ME to Sonic? I am the ULTIMATE LIFE FORM!
Darkwing: Yeah, right. Look, blackie, I've survived and defeated the Fearsome Five, a cybernetically enhanced Taurus Bulba and lots more I'd rather not go into.
Shadow: (uses Chaos Control to teleport behind Darkwing) You will regret your bravado! (tries to nail Darkwing with some Chaos energy, but the costumed duck nimbly dodges).
Darkwing: Nice trick, but it's wasted on somebody who's used to fighting a lunatic who eats power companies for breakfast. And, just for the record, calling yourself the "Ultimate Life Form"? Even MY ego isn't THAT bad. (aims a web kick at Shadow, but he uses Chaos Control to teleport himself out of the path)
Shadow: It is no idle boast, I assure you-for the scant seconds you have left in this mortal realm!
Darkwing: Yeah, yeah. If I had a nickel for every time some second-rate super-villain made that threat, I'd make Scrooge McDuck look like a pauper. Oh, and just for your information, this fight was merely a diversion, Clyde.
Shadow: Clyde? (as a canister containing a combination of sneezing powder, itching powder and tear gas is dropped on him)
Darkwing: You know, as in Bonnie and Clyde (attempts another web kick, and actually NAILS Shadow this time as the latter is too busy tending to his artifically induced simultaneous itching, sneezing and crying fits to teleport out of the way).
Shadow: Excellent kick, but it takes far more than that to keep me down.
Darkwing: As I anticipated. (as Shadow gets hit from behind by a freeze bolt)
Morgana: How did I do, Dark?
Darkwing: Superbly, honeywumpus. I I must say that was a pretty clever thought holding on to my combination sneezing powder, itching powder and tear gas cartrige and levitating it above that madman while I was keeping him occupied and then hitting him with the freeze bolt. (the two now leave)
Shadow: (generating Chaos Energy to free himself from the ice) That duck doesn't know who he's dealing with.
Rouge: Would you forget about that right now and get me out of here before the police arrive?
Shadow: Of course (takes Rouge's hand and uses Chaos Control to get her out of the glue, she and Shadow then using flying and super-speed respectively to leave JUST before the police show up).
