(2) Mahr's NOT referring to preening for the date, but to bashing away at Kaa for about an hour. Right ?

2) No, she means she'll need to cut down Kaa's beating because she needs to get ready for her date, and getting ready takes about one hour (showering, resting, dressing up...). So, Mahr only has 6 hours to beat up Kaa.

Pythons are not suitable pets, because they really have no bond with you, and may turn on you someday.I have read of 2 incidents where a python had attacked its owner and the police had to decapitate the snake to free the helpless man, the snake stubbornly and viciously refusing to let go or respond to efforts to unwind it manually.
Only birds and mammals appear to be able to form emotional bonds.
