Description
Marco, for those of you who may not know, is a Chinese company that has decided to try manufacturing higher-end colored pencils at a lower purchase price. Along with the Raffines, which are scholar grade, they produce the Renoir line for artists as well as a line if water color pencils. The Raffine and Renoir lines are supposed to be an oil based pencil though this is not on the packaging.I really have not used these enough to have a solid opinion of their quality but I can say that, like you'd expect, the Raffine are not quite as good as the Renoir. The Raffine run about $20-30 for a box of 72 colors (no repeats). Though it may not be reflected in the image I provided, the colors are bright enough but not as vivid as Prismacolor. They don't seem to be as prone to breakage as my Prismacolors, that's a point in their favor but the individual pencils don't have color names, just a number and that counts as a negative.
This particular photo is a photograph taken under a combination of natural daylight and Ott-light. I did not edit it digitally.
