First Stage: Peponate - The Explosive Pokemon

Very interesting. I've always felt the desire to get a fire/grass pokemon. I've had a ideas for them. Everything from those exploding seed pods [link]
to those rare pine cones that will only bloom after a forest fire.
These are very brilliant though. I'd say that you could definitely work for the pokemon monster team, hands down some of my favorite designs are by you.
Good work man. :]

Grass/Fire is quite hard, these are my second batch with this type combo, the first were my firework pokemon from the previous generation, only with them, they only got the secondary fire type at night.
Exploding seed pods are gooooood !
And thanks very much for the great compliment!

Mmmmmmmmm, these two
The two I've been waiting for!
Though they do not have very much resemblance to the originals as you stated there was enough in that when I saw this picture in my messages I immediatly knew who they were
So, the first, Pobomme. It's adorable and I can imagine there being trees full of them scattered about randomly. I also like that you kept a similar color scheme and a similar habits and such compared to Bomby.
Peponate; EXTREMLY original looking. My favorite detail is how the Stems each twirl together coming second is the clever TNT part.
It'd be neat if when one explodes the some of the seeds eventually grow into little Pobomme.
Though if each time that they hit the ground they explode I can't imagine them being very good in battles.

Oh my god the Comment King's return
I'm glad to hear that you recognised them, even though they have changed so! (Sorry again about that).
Glad you like them both!
Yes, Pobomme trees are scattered around, and there would be like... warning signs to let people know.
And with Peponate, I did wonder if the seeds could become Pobomme, but then, that would mean they'd be pretty common considering the amount of seeds in them.
I'm sure they can be trained not to explode constantly, like Brock's Pineco

Unfortunately only for a short amount of time
But the change in design & color is absolutely fine, considering you only improved them
Hmmm, all nice topics to think about

It's a pomegranate.
How does Peponate move with that stick sticking out of it's...ehh...behind. He reminds me of Jรตse Jalapeno (on a stick).
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
JoshKH92 In reply to Atari93 [2010-08-12 17:30:29 +0000 UTC]
Well, usually they don't move, they just hang from trees, but when they fall, the detonator is forced up and inside, and stays there til it recovers, giving it time to crawl back up the tree

Atari93 In reply to JoshKH92 [2010-08-13 07:48:15 +0000 UTC]
ok. Why DO they explode in the first place?

JoshKH92 In reply to Atari93 [2010-08-13 10:15:53 +0000 UTC]
Mostly when they're scared or threatened.
