Description
The pants
This project took me 6 months working off and on. The pattern is self drafted, using Adobe Illustrator to draft the pattern in. Fabric is a brushed twill in cream. Sewn on a commercial JUKI 8700, except for the bar tacking which was done on a Singer 4423 home machine. Button holes were done on a Brother embroidery machine, and I programmed them myself in Embrilliance's Stitch Artist 3.
The inner waistband lettering I used my Brother Cut N Scan to cut the words out on vinyl sheets.
The suspenders
The straps for the suspenders were cut using a rotary cutter and ruler. The straps are 2 layers of faux leather, sandwiched between some black washable kraft paper, fused together using EZ Steam ll. The finishing piece shapes were drawn in adobe illustrator as well. I then took the svg files of the pieces and used my Brother Scan N Cut (not sponsored lol). Everything was joined to the straps using chicago screws.
