Still more valuable than homes in the projects that surround streets like this, despite their dilapidation, these houses are popular to those with higher incomes who still can't afford to move to better parts of the city. Unfortunately, dealing and growing products that aid in numbing reality are two of a very limited number of ways to make a decent living for teens who can't afford an education. This certainly says something more about society at large than it does about the kids that grow up in these conditions.
