Head-on portraits are not the most creative, I'll admit, but I want to post this in thanks to the Ghale family, who has been far beyond hospitable in providing me with delicious meals and a place to stay in their village, Kashur. This is taken during the Hindu/Buddhist festival of Dasai.Ghale, translating to "farmers of the high slopes" is the most common family name of the Gurung peoples of Nepal. The Gurung are a Himalayan people, originally migrating into the mountains of Nepal from Tibet. During the Gorkha dynasties of Nepal, the Gurung were considered the kingdom's most famous warriors--I find them quite loving and peaceful
