- Merlin was born at a pet shop where he was adopted by Ben's family as a trapinch One of the first faces he had seen was that of a young Joltik boy, peering down at him with a goofy grin, at his find, and on that day, Ben's birthday, Merlin was adopted by the hutchinson family where he grew in quite a large family, becoming a vibrava, and then finally a Flygon. The two had built quite a friendship, And here he is now, a large Flygon ready to have even more fun!
