TF Tuesday, Week 41/52I loosely based this lemur off of a ring-tailed lemur (Lemur catta), but I wasn't really going for realism here.
Also, the word "lemur" was derived from the Latin word lemures, meaning "ghost" or "spirit". From very quickly skimming the Wikipedia article about lemurs, these creatures were given that name because taxonomist Carl Linnaeus thought that the slow movements and nocturnal activity of the closely-related slow loris reminded him of the lemures of Roman mythology.
