Now, you've heard many people complain about how television shows are, whether it be a kids show, adult show, or any other show. However, one thing I've noticed is that people have complained how a show that used to be good starts going downhill (such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Family Guy, The Simpsons, etc). They call these the "Modern Seasons." Now I mean no disrespect on their opinions. Everyone has their own, regardless of how others may feel about it. That's just life. But the one thing that bothers me is how many times I've heard the word "Modern" when it comes to "bad seasons." For example, SpongeBob seasons 6-8 are considered to be modern seasons, though these aforementioned seasons had aired from 2008 to 2012. Not only that, but from what I've heard, an episode called One Coarse Meal (which the SpongeBob fandom is STILL not over, I understand why but still) is considered to be a modern episode despite the fact that it aired about 13 years ago. Another example is the Family Guy seasons. Seasons 8 to 12 are considered "modern" despite the fact that, like with the SpongeBob seasons, it's been literally YEARS since they've debuted.

Now, like I said before, I AM NOT JUDGING ANYONE'S OPINION ON THESE SHOWS AND/OR SEASONS. Everyone has their own opinions, again. And the cartoon fandom is no exception. But the one thing that bothers me is how frequent a certain term is used. I'm only saying that people need to stop using the word incorrectly. I'm not saying I hate the word. It just needs to be used in the right way. The dictionary defines the word "Modern" as something related to the present, not the past. So using the word "Modern" for something in the past is VERY out of place. And I can already sense that there are going to be immature users coming at me and saying that I'm an asshole for speaking the truth, and to those users: YOU NEED TO TOUCH SOME FREAKING GRASS. In fact, here's an acronym from a YT user named Victor Tanzig: MUGUSU. Man Up, Grow Up, Shut Up.
