Hey guys it’s me Joshua again. Apologies for my lack of activity as of late, I’ve had a big video in the making so I’ve had a busy time. In the meantime I’ve come up with an awesome idea. I’m going to do ERTL models of every Tugs character. This seems like a very interesting challenge for a hand editor so I’m looking forward to this journey. But before I do that, I’ve decided to restore Ten Cents and Sunshine to look more show accurate, then I’m going to do a mock up of Top Hat before I show Warrior and Hercules from the perfect angles with added details before we finally reach the every character challenge.

Here is Ten Cents restored. I used an Alamy stock photo and removed the Alamy marks before giving him a fresh coat of paint. The colours on the hat and stack were too bright so I coloured them the correct shades to look more like the show. ThomastheSmallEngine mentioned in his review that the face looked like a mix between his and Zug's face which I honestly agree with (perhaps I’ll use this face when I make Zug) so I edited it to look more like Ten Cents. I then moved the number and star higher up on the stack as they are in the show, the star was hard to do with two fingers but I managed it. Afterwards I went onto adding railings to the top deck with a lifebuoy on there (I suppose both would be plastic), coloured the lifeboat and added the pole and flag and then gave him the whistle. I was always curious about why his whistle had a face and hat. I soon repainted the name and nets before getting to the lining on his hull. The final part was adding the headlight and eagle crest, this was easy to do with photoshop and now Ten Cents has been restored.

I honestly had fun making this and I’m excited to do the other characters in ERTL. Look out for Sunshine because his restoration is next. I don’t know how I’m gonna manage Top Hat with the minimal pictures we have, but knowing me I’ll eventually figure this out. Hope you enjoy this, because I sure am.
