Description
I wanted to draw something where the focus wasn't the character, but the scenery around them for a changeI definitely need a bit more practice at this sort of thing FFF

you did a really cool job, i like the scenery, and the title makes you feel for the character you never met.

Even if you wanted to have the background be the focus, here's the thing: the leaves (or as i thought them at first, crumbling debris) take away from the surroundings. The fact that you have the background in more or less the same luminosity, as the lower side of the pillars are the same luminescence as above the viaduct (I think that's what it's called) it gives the composition a very de-focused feel. The leaves I think, occupy too much of the canvas and because they don't have stems and branches connecting them to anything they appear very much to be falling from the sky as massive debris.ย
I would suggest at least doing something with the lower part of the composition, beyond the pillars as it snatches focus away from the upper half... third.ย
