"I held up my hands and was shocked. It felt, and looked strange not having the webbing between my fingers. Like at any moment they could each fall out because there was nothing to hold them in place. And my skin. It wasn’t gray anymore. It was brown, like the earth. I looked down at my new legs. I almost couldn’t believe my eyes. Strong and sturdy legs, with long feet and five little toes on each of them. I giggled when I realized that I could wiggle them.
I turned towards the rock that I lay the clothes on and crawled over to them to put them on."
