you need to observe a lot.. the onne simple and obvious design is that they don't have nose... decepticon's eye are red , and Autobots are blue.. predacons are yellow... those are the basic... next is you need to study the silhouette design.. and then you can move to details..

Interesting, cool-I know I probably jumped the gun with observations a bit, but I notice that the edges in some areas look a bit worn (from transformations I assume). So there's something. I'll look into it, thank you! I found out my dad has the educational version of maya so I'll have to start playing with it I suppose.

its actually the look and design language of TFP you need to understand.. once you know that, you can practically create any TFP characters you want..
