Geez man, me and you should get together and make a pitch to Someone to do posters or something. That looks great. You using Painter or PS? I'm glad you recognized that that was lightning in the BG.

I'm glad you liked it, and I think that would make a very cool poster! That's a great picture, it was a lot of fun to paint, and I hope I'll get to color more of your art.
Usually, I only use Painter for a little bit of blending, the rest was done in Photoshop 5.

I knew I had seen some stuff you had done over at Glasshouse. You have progressed so far. Oshawa? Lived there for a year back in 1980. Ever been to Bowmanville? Went to school there as well as Pickering High school. Aaaa yes Canada was some fun times getting drunk and acting the fool.

Thanks! I'm always trying to improve my skills. But, I still miss the old days, back when all you had to do was color like Hi*Fi!
...and Wow, small world! I lived in Oshawa for most of my life, but I spent a few years living in Bowmanville after High School, then I moved to Kitchener/Waterloo.

I'm always weirded out by superheroine's and villians. Their figures are always so...unrealistic. Personally, I'd like to see a superheroine that's just average looking. Over all, you did a good work with shading and lighting. That cocky smirk screams Ms. Marvel.

Superheroines and Superheroes fulfill a kind of philosophical need in people. If their physical depictions were anatomically correct with real life, the point would become moot.

I suppose. That's what you get when you update the Gods, eh?

Have you by some chance read the book "Our Gods Wear Spandex"?

I've seen it on amazon, but never picked it up. I'm guessing it goes along the same line as my post, but it doesn't take three braincells to get the sense that Superheroes are really just the Gods of old rolled into new forms and new legends, some times, still keeping their actual names but minor alterations to their lore (Thor, Hercules, DC Hercules, DC Thor ect.).
It is esspecialy evident when you look at the Golden Age Flash, Jay Garrick, who wears Mercuries helmet!
Superman is another, more obvious, parrellel to Moses or Jesus. A child sent by his parents in a desperet attempt to save his life, and would grow up to save the world and be opposed by a dark, sinister force that hide behind a veil of innocene and goodness (Modern Age and the young Silver Age Lex Luthor).
The greek gods can even be seen in Batman's rouges! This was pointed out in the 90's animated series as a mad man, beliveing himself to be Zeus was brought through the halls of Arkyam and veiwed the other inmates as the greek pantheon gods!
In Justice League Confeidential, a godlike entity that sought to conqure the world offered the Justice League a place as the new Pantheon once he had domination over that planet.
I could truly go on and on, but I should probably stop myself!

Batman goes back to the Kabbalah, in a way. A golem made from simple building blocks to serve a holy purpose.
Daredevil, on the other hand, is a rejection of this principle, a deeply religious Catholic who attempts to uphold the law in every way he can.
