Description
In ancient Babylon, forbidden lovers Pyramus and Thisbe arrange to meet under the mulberry tree near a tomb. Unfortunately, a lioness scares Thisbe away and leaves behind a bloodied cloth. Pyramus finds the cloth, believes that his lover was killed, and stabs himself with his sword. Thisbe finds her dead lover and kills herself. The gods take pity and turn the mulberry tree's fruit to be red to honor their love.
