40th Regiment was a Army unit of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance.
Aqualish Jedi Knight Hishgre Iroug became General of the Regiment and Clone Marshal Captain Coil served his Second-in-Command. Iroug led a Regiment in many battles for years until 19 BBY, in the last day of the Clone wars, Captain Coli got transmission from Supreme Chancellor of the Republic Sheev Palpatine, secretly the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, relayed Order 66, turning the clones against the Jedi Order. Upon receiving an order, clones immediately turned their weapons against their Jedi commander.
