Wildmutt is the DNA sample of a Vulpimancer from the planet Vulpin in the Omnitrix.
The Vulpimancer is the second alien to be used by Ben, being his tracker by choice and one of his most used transformations over time.
The Vulpimancers' main abilities are their enhanced senses. Being able to track almost anything with his sense of smell. The gill-shaped nostrils on the side of the head help it move around, allowing it to “see” its surroundings by doing 3D mapping based on sound. He has great agility, strength, speed and reaction time that allows him to be very useful in combat and chases. It also has sharp claws and teeth that help it attack, dig and destroy things. It can detect the heat of nearby things as if it were an infrared camera. It can stand on its hind legs and brandish its front legs into fists to pierce objects. The spikes around its body offer some protection and in the future, they will serve as projectiles.
Moving on to his weaknesses; It is the only transformation of Benjamin that lacks the ability to speak verbally, due to him lacking the vocal anatomy to do so. When the user has a cold, the three nostrils become blocked with mucus, blinding and depriving him of his senses, he also loses strength and control over himself. His senses are very sensitive, making him vulnerable to anything that might overwhelm his senses like a very low frequency sound or a strong smell. In turn, combat can be complicated for him thanks to his lack of real eyes, especially if he is deprived of his vision spare.
The Omnitrix resorts to placing a restraining collar on the user in case the user succumbs to their Vulpimancers instincts, giving them an electric shock that immobilizes the user. Luckily for Benjamin, he has quite a bit of control over his beastly form.
Vulpimancers are a wild race with little intellect. In Ben's case, he behaves more like a dog or even a wolf than a beast native to Earth, because his will suppresses his wildness and preserves his intellect. He likes to transform into this form because of his liking for dogs, and because they tend to pamper him like a dog if he does something well.

*Vulpimancers:
They are an alien species evolved for hunting and combat, their fur is useful for surviving in low temperatures. The Vulpimancers are among the cruelest and most primitive races in the Milky Way. They are usually the pets of different Dictators and Hunters of the Galaxy.
They go through a late stage of growth that is made up of five phases: in the first phase they are small, thin and have short nails. In the second phase they are larger and have bigger claws. The third phase is almost the same as the previous one, only with larger fangs. The fourth phase reaches a height of two meters on all fours, a tail begins to grow, with more disfigured teeth and improved senses. The last phase has already reached its adult stage, they are larger and prepared for combat, and have dark stripes on their back.
Some Plumbers have trained several groups of Vulpimancers to serve as police canines. Demonstrating that they are developing intelligence and/or that they are guided by a kind of sixth sense that lets them know whether to trust individuals.
They have two sub-races:
Arctodus Simus, the one that Benjamin has, tend to be less wild and more rational, they have black lips around their mouth, they have robust fur and spikes around their body. Those from the north or those who live in the darkest parts are usually albinos.
Gorgonopsidae, these are the wilder and crueler of the two, possessing neither lips nor fur nor quills, but have a greater degree of robustness in their bodies. Being much stronger and not as fast as the first ones. They usually live in the hottest parts of the planet and have a venomous bite.
In some areas of the planet it is contaminated by tear gases that were especially sensitive to their eyes. To make matters worse, the natural predator (Vulpinensis Noxia) of their race has evolved to use these and other gases naturally. Luckily for the Solar System and for Vulpin, it is an almost extinct asexual race. Even so, they are protected by several activist groups that watch over the lives of the almost extinct.
Vulpin is a dark planet at the edge of the galaxy. From an irreversibly poisoned ecosystem, being a planet with little biodiversity of native creatures. Darkness and gases have caused the Vulpimancers to lose their eyes throughout the slow evolution of the race. They usually live in dark caves below the surface and others live on the surface without fur. This planet has long served as a dumping ground for contaminated materials for other worlds. Causing what was once natural to be corrupted by pollution. On the one hand it is a penal colony and the other is a toxic waste dump. Any life form that wants to survive on this planet must endure the sub-zero temperatures, the poisoned forests, and the planet's natives, making it a pretty harsh outlook.
