My little sister-in-law doesn't have a dA, but she was watching over my shoulder and told me to tell you that she really likes this piece and the meaning behind it.

I wonder...... how about crisp lines? (might make the whole idea very impact-ful...)
but, hey, it's down to you....

Thanks for checking out my work and the nice suggestion, I'm always looking for ways to improve. I wanted to keep the background a bit subdued, as a tertiary element. Or are we speaking of the form?

the form..... I think you might consider...... your other works have a similar pattern as to what I was talking about, but it's down to you..... you're the artist...... I was just thinking it'd be more.... uhhh.... "poppy"..... you know....ergghh..... Explosive..... but you know. O__o

Well, depends if you like it or not. All art is subjective. This piece is up to your interpretation. If you see a soul, then hey- it's soul. That's why art kicks ass.

yeah unless someone does something stupid with art. Art is both subjective and objective at the same time, and when someone creates they must create something worthy of their gift of talent, and thus their art must not only be a worthy use of that gift, but must also make up for all the people who do not have that gift yet wish to create. In the end, you have a talent others wish they would have, so you must in turn honor those who can not create by creating something that is worthy of them as well.

Wow...This is so deep. Good for you in overcoming your depression. It's one thing to find the "light" through the relief in getting over that struggle, but then to vividly express it through this art is really beautiful. It says so much more than I could say and what is seen.

Most Definitely
take care, stranger. There are times when even I, as a digital artist, question whether drawing and painting will be worth all the effort I put into both in the end, and through your work, you have inspired me to continue. It's really uplifting to hear honest experiences like yours. And I hope I'm not saying too much in spite of myself. What you do touches people. And I hope I can do the same with my own art.

Every great artist asks the same thing to themselves. I constantly go through a cycle of creative-lapse, and during it I'll swear that "this time it's different." And it never is. I just gotta power through it and keep drawing and drawing. Then some mud sticks. Then suddenly- it all sticks. For awhile. I'm glad I could inspire you. It's important to appreciate art when you're feeling blank. Returning the favor. Happy Pixels!
