Description
I've always been very disappointed with the way that Lord Hades' domain has been presented in both Ancient Stories, and Modern retellings. So I did what I do best, I drew how I imagine our final resting place to look, at least Hades' s palace, it's gates, the River Styx, and a bit of Charon's boat. I imagine it to be a lush open cave with many vines and plants around the ceiling and Pomegranate trees planted as well as Pomegranates going on the vines, possibly some lavender Bushes here and there, possibly planted by Lady Persephone herself. As well as the Pomegranate tree, the one that Queen Persephone had her seeds from, the one that traps her in her Husband's domain for a quarter of the year, possibly even the one that Lord Hermes takes from to give as we enter. I didn't include them here but I do imagine Asphodel to be a wide open field, a pond in the center of a valley surrounded by Mountains and Hills, plenty of Asphodel around, Trees towards the North side at the bottom of a hill with lush green fields, a bright sunset sky, and a nice cool breeze, somewhere where the average mortal can rest. Meanwhile Elysium is on the other side of Hades's Palace, a big old village, full of large mansion like houses, fountains around and beautiful fields and ponds everywhere you look, the perfect place for Heroes and others alike to rest and celebrate. While Tartaros is in the center of Hades' Palace, a deep hole going down for what feels like hours only to land in a field of punishment, to be tormented forever. I also Imagine that Hekate, Thanatos, Nyx, Hypnos, and other Underworld Gods would have their own Palaces on either side of Hades's, not as grand but just as unique.
