Sup guys I'm back. This time with a drawing of my #1 favorite video game character of all time, Mario. If you knew me since I joined deviantART, you'd know my original name was Super-Kapkid. The first profile picture I ever had was a symbol like ">|<" this. That symbol represented the two K's in my name and was also on my Mario styled hat that was on my OC when I FIRST started uploading here. So it goes without saying that Mario played a big part in my artistic expression at the time.

I'm really late, but there's this video on Twitter called the Monkey video. I only just heard it like last week. and I didn't know the song that went with it until today. Apparently it's the Super Mario World Ending theme. SO I listened to the full thing and H O L Y F R I C K did I get transported to a new world. I had this sort of animation in my head of Mario and the Gang walking around and just enjoying everything. and they'd start parkouring and stuff and having picnics and it would pick up at the fast parts and slow down at the slow parts and it was just so vivid in my head. And it would be drawing the style you'd see in 3D Mario except animated in 2D. Man I wish I could show you instead of explain it.

Anyway that put me in a Mario mood, which I haven't been in in forever. So I said forget it and decided to draw Mario. And that led me to rerealizing just how epic the music in this franchise really is. If you haven't I'd listen to the Super Mario Medley by FamilyJules.

This actually wasn't that hard to picture. I rendered out Mario without the shading and then I sketched out a background on a lew layer and was like "You know, this would look better cropped vertically. So I drew a rectangle and cropped to that.

I probably shouldn't have cropped it so close since the watermarks don't have any coherent placement but its too late now so meh.
