Second on the #MonsterMayChallenge list is “Beholder” an iconic monster for the identity of “Dungeon & Dragon” his appearance is that of a mutant spawn with multiple tentacles and eyes, a jaw and aberrant teeth are also included in his description; although his appearance looks beastly he is an "intelligent being" capable of casting spells and being immune to the magic of other races (to confront a "Beholder" is to condemn himself to his disintegrating ray until he loses his flesh or is petrified.)
The Design of the "Beholder" is so special that it managed to inspire other monsters such as the "Cacodemon" from "Doom" or the "Observers" from "World of Warcraft" respectively.
To finish the references in a chapter of "Goblin Slayer" they manage to beat a "Beholder" by tricking him using flour to blind him: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDF3gu… 👀
