The Light Elves are part of the nine kingdoms and inhabit "Alfheim" their counterpart the Dark Elves wanted to reclaim the Light of "Alfheim" for their own selfish purposes causing a civil war that dashed the hopes of the Light elves. ✨
When the King of the Dark Elves had been killed by a foreign god (Kratos), the peaceful Light Elves took advantage of the turn of events in their favor to empower themselves and forge weapons and armor of light that allowed them to levitate and gain the upper hand. in the civil war together with his new queen "Alba" taking the reins of the light of "Alfheim". (But Kratos would intervene again, killing Queen Alba in fierce combat.) ⚔
In the events of "Ragnarök" the elves of light and darkness maintained a truce until the fall of Odin and the "Aesir" gods, the survivors returned to their respective kingdom but some others sought a new home and a new beginning in the kingdoms that they endured without discord.
As a last piece of information we have the librarian "Maven" an elf of light who survived the fight against Kratos after learning a lesson:
