The magic bird of the cloud forest...the Resplendent Quetzal. It was a dream that I would at least see this bird. I saw it on several occasions near Savegre (Costa Rica) and had absolutely outstanding opportunities for photography. At one time several males and females were sitting in the very same tree. Like all trogons, they are generally relaxed and slow-moving birds. I can still see their heads slowly swiveling back and forth as they scanned the tree tops...occasionally stopping to gulp down a small avocado. Mission accomplished!Related content

What a gorgeous shot! And congradulations on accomplishing such a dream! I use to live on the border of Costa Rica and the Republic of PanamΓ‘ (where numerous quetzals live), so this photo brings back some nice memories!
