Finding Dory has a lot of crazy, surreal, cartoonish gags and moments that play to it's favor as a fun animated film, courtesy of Disney/Pixar.
That said, FD does not exactly have the same amount of wit as it's predecessor, Finding Nemo. However, this does not mean it is still not a good movie in it's own right.
The first film chronicled the relationship between a father and his only living son. The sequel is more about overcoming a disability to reach a goal. In this case, Dory overcomes her short memory and Destiny the Whale Shark overcomes her bad vision to try to reunite Dory with her parents. There is a good lesson reaching a common goal using whatever resource is available, a lot of funny and witty characters just like the first film and some cameos and call back references that make Finding Dory as entertaining and funny as any sequel to a movie as good as Finding Nemo has the right to be.
