Description Bear Lakes Middle School’s (and later Palm Beach Lakes High School’s) bespectacled student, professor, and inventor Jason Webster from the story  Jason Webster InventsJason Webster was a 13-year-old kid who lived in 5130 Foxhall Pl, West Palm Beach, FL 33417. His father, whose name was Jonathan, was a scientist and his mother, whose name was Judith, was a dentist who worked at the Sage Dental of Cypress Lakes. As an inventor, he attended Bear Lakes Middle School where his friends smell-sensitive Paul Christopherson, his smell-sensitive girlfriend Molly Richards, and young gardener Gwen Carden all studied. One morning, Jason was sleeping up in bed on a loft in the garage until he woke up at six-thirty. Other middle school kids would usually wake up at seven in order to eat breakfast and get ready for school. "Another good morning," said Jason, getting out of bed. "Time for me to eat breakfast, wash up and brush my teeth, and get dressed in time for me to go to school." Having had brown cinnamon Pop-Tarts and Lactaid fat free milk for breakfast and washed up, Jason got dressed, packed up his backpack, got up on his electric scooter, opened the garage door, and drove off to Bear Lakes Middle School.Along the way, Jason greeted Gwen Carden, Paul Christopherson, and Molly Richards and said to them, "Greetings, friends. Meet me at science class." "We’ll see you there," said Gwen,, Paul, and Molly at the same time. Later, when they reached science class, they met Daphne Lawton, their science teacher. "Good morning, class," she said. "Good morning, Miss Lawton," her class replied. "Now," said Daphne. "Before we start our class, I have a surprise for you." Gwen raised her hand and said, "Like what? You're getting a new baby?" Paul replied, "You're getting your nose job?" Molly said, "You're getting fired?" Daphne shook her head. "No. I want to tell you we have a new student here at school." She turned to Jason and said to him, "Jason Webster, I would like you to say hello to our whole class." Jason came to the whole class and cleared his throat. "Morning, people," he said. "I, Dr. Jason Webster, am an inventor. I make everything." His friends shook hands with him. "Please to meet you," said Gwen. "Welcome," asked Paul. "Hello," said Molly. "No need to thank me for that," said Jason. "Now I need some things used to make out of new inventions." "Enough of that," said Daphne. "It's time to start working."Later on, after school had ended (since the day was Friday, but it does not matter), while doing his homework, Jason designed several things, including special impenetrable goggles for eye protection against sand, soap, toothpaste, etc., those with special X-ray vision, sneakers to help keep their socks from stinking, those to help slide on the water surface without falling in it, and bandana masks for 100% protection against pollen, gases, smoke, and dust. "I know these things may seem important enough," he thought. "But I must hide the designs so that my parents won't see it. All I need is help with my science, health, language, and world history homework from them." So he went to Judith, who came home from her work, and said to her, "Mom, I need your help with my homework." "Sure thing," said Judith. The next day was Saturday. Jason rode his scooter to collect used sneakers and sandals, used swimming goggles, useless bandanas, and empty spray bottles from all his friends, including Paul, Molly, Gwen, Paul’s smell-sensitive older siblings David and Sheila, creator of the waterproof face mask Evelyn Gable, and twin sisters Janessa and Vanessa Heartgrave. Then he returned to his garage and gathered all the stuff around him. But first, removing his glasses and donning his heavy duty gloves and safety goggles, he poured used-up Basis soap and what remained from bottles of Biolage normalizing shampoo, Tide free-and-clear laundry detergent, Palmolive dish soap, and Head and Shoulders Classic Clean dandruff shampoo, with a hint of what remained from Arm and Hammer Ultra Max deodorant, into his modified mixer which his parents had bought ten years ago.The ingredients were now mixed into a secret formula and was poured right into every empty spray bottle. "There," said Jason. "This formula removes all the stinky areas around the human body when everyone is ready to school." Having finished doing it, Judith called out, "Lunch!" "Coming," called Jason, as he prepared to eat his peanut butter and jelly sandwich with milk on the side for lunch. After that, he said, "And now, I will modify these old used sneakers." Jason began to modify the shoes designed to help float above the water surface. And later on, when the shoes were completed, he took of his shoes and donned them. "Now to try it out," he announced. When he brought along David, Sheila, Paul, Molly, Gwen, Evelyn, Janessa, and Vanessa to watch on at the lake by Seminole Trails Elementary School a half-hour later, he demonstrated while experimenting his newly-modified sneakers while not falling into the water, by walking, running, and dancing. Sheila, not amused at this, asked him, "You called that an experiment?" "Are you kidding?" said Jason. "This shoes help float on the water's surface, and no one will fall into the water when wearing them." "When do you learn to do that?" David asked him. "Just recently," answered Jason. While everyone was amazed at this, Bella Stanton and her posse Korrina Hepburn, Carmelita Hernandez, and Beverly Shore drove by in their car, and Bella called, "Lame! Why do people want not to get wet when wearing those shoes?" The people turned their heads at Bella in exasperation as they drove off.Back at home, Jason modified a pair of used safety goggles with a special ingredient using carrot juice and other chemicals, which would be made using X-ray vision technology. "There," he said, "these goggles help see through things from inside and underneath." When he prepared a test, Judith cried, "HELP! HELP!" Jason gasped. "Looks like mom's in trouble! I must help her." When he rushed to Judith in the kitchen, he asked her, "What's a matter?" "It's my wedding ring," answered Judith. "I was preparing my salad of carrots and broccoli for dinner, but I lost it down the drain." "Don't worry, mom," said Jason. "I'll help." He removed his glasses and then donned his X-ray goggles to help her find her ring. Suddenly, there it was! It was stuck inside one of the sink's pipes. "I found it!" said Jason. "Now why won't you call a plumber to take it from there, okay?" "Sure thing," said Judith. "But how did you know?" "Well," Jason explained, "these goggles help see through what's inside using X-ray vision." "I see," replied Judith. But from outside the window, Bella and her posse watched him in disgust. "He would never make these X-ray goggles in real life," she groaned. "Come on."The next day was Sunday, and that afternoon at eleven, Evelyn and the Heartgraves were enjoying their bottles of Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi outside of 2765 Foxhall Drive West when they noticed smoke from a distance. Could it be a house fire? They rushed over to the house, and when they reached the open garage, they discovered Jason's laboratory was before their eyes. "Okay," Evelyn said, "now that's what I call major weirdness." "Talk about weirder than science fiction," said Janessa. "I'll say," said Vanessa. The girls walked toward Jason and Evelyn asked, "Jason, what are you going to do with all those bandanas?" "Who wants to know?" asked Jason. "My name is Evelyn Gable. And meet my friends, Janessa and Vanessa." "What's your name?" asked Janessa. "And what are you doing?" asked Vanessa. "Jason Webster's the name, and inventing's my game." "Is that so?" said Vanessa. "So you must be using machinery in your house," said Evelyn. "That's right," said Jason. "And I use the bandanas as gas masks or respirators for protection against smoke, pollen, dust, and gas." "Jason," said Evelyn, "these bandanas hardly work against gases and smoke, but they do work against pollen and dust." "I know," said Jason. "But believe it or not. I mixed them using water, baking soda, and charcoal." "Besides," she told him, "I already have my respirator and gas mask at home." "But's it's light," said Jason. "And I called them emergency bandanas. Okay, ladies, what color mask would you like?" "I would like light blue," sighed Evelyn. "Pink is what I would like," replied Janessa. "Purple," replied Vanessa. "Coming right up," said Jason, preparing to be ready for it when they were interrupted by Bella and her posse who showed up once again. "Unless you mask up for smoke and gas within tomorrow," said Bella, "you will get an F for that. Right, ladies?" Korrina, Carmelita, and Beverly nodded. But Jason ignored them and donned a light blue bandana over Evelyn's nose, mouth, and chin, then donned a hot pink one over Janessa's, and donned a blue-violet one over Vanessa's, and afterwards, he donned a white one over his as Bella aimed her stinky perfume at Jason and the girls, then sprayed it around them. When the smell had cleared, Jason said through his bandana mask, "What do you know. These bandana masks do work!" "Right!' said Evelyn through hers. "Now you're not going to get an F. We girls will do what we do with ours on."Soon, at two, with their masks on, Evelyn drove her bicycle around the neighborhood and the Heartgraves drove their car, when something suddenly happened. It was a young ten-year old boy who was sneezing like crazy. Evelyn stopped her bike, and rushed into him. "Hey, kid," she cried through her mask, "what's making you sneeze?" "It's grass," said the boy. "It makes me allergic." "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Evelyn Gable. What's yours?" "Tyler Oliver. My mom and I moved here from Boston, Massachusetts a week ago." "Don't worry, Tyler," said Evelyn through her mask. "I will help." She took out a green bandana she had got from Jason, then donned it over his lower half of his face. "So," said Evelyn through her mask, "now do you feel comfortable?" "Yes, Evelyn," said Tyler through his. "Now I feel much better."But what about the Heartgraves? With their masks on, they had finished their grocery-shopping at Publix when suddenly a loudly-blaring fire truck zoomed by. "What's going on over there?" cried Janessa through her mask. "Come on, sis, let's take a short cut. It's this way." "Right!" cried Vanessa through hers. When they reached what was going on, they knew there was a grease fire in 4787 Victoria Cir! "There is a fire somewhere at home!" shouted Janessa through her mask. "No wonder we saw a fire truck zooming by us!" "Come on," said Vanessa through hers. "Let's save someone. They must be inside." When the girls rushed inside the burning house, they saw two boys attempting to make a grilled steak for dinner which caused a grease fire in the kitchen! "Boys!" shouted Janessa through her mask. "We're hear to rescue you!" They grabbed the two boys and took them outside for fresh air. "Are you boys okay?" cried Janessa through her mask. "I guess so," one of them gasped. "Me too," his younger brother replied. "You should never play with the oven when your parents are away," warned Vanessa through hers. "What are your names, by the way?" "Kevin Carson. This is my younger brother, Adam." "Hi, Adam, Kevin," sighed Janessa through her mask. "Too bad our steak dinner is ruined," sighed Adam. "And we're hungry." "Don't worry," said Janessa through her mask. "Vanessa and I will take you two to Burger King for dinner, then you will both satisfy your hunger." "Great!" replied Kevin and Adam together, and the girls took them to eat dinner there. Then that evening at seven, while the Heartgraves brought along the Carson brothers to spend the night at their home, Evelyn had pulled her mask from under her chin and said to them, "Janessa, Vanessa, meet our new friend from the neighborhood. His name is Tyler Oliver. He's allergic to grass, so I had to give him a green bandana mask to avoid giving him allergies." "Hi, Janessa, Vanessa," Tyler waved at them. The Heartgraves had pulled their masks from under their chins and said together, "Pleased to meat you, Tyler." "And remember to tell David, Sheila, Paul, and Molly Tyler said hi," said Evelyn as she rode her bike home in time for dinner. "We will," said the Heartgraves as they went home. The next day was Monday, and Jason brought along his special inventions from his home to Miss Lawton's science class. "Fellow classmates," announced Jason, "these new pair of shoes help people walk along the water surface without falling through it. And these are my special pair of goggles with X-ray vision. They help see through what's inside or under something that's very hard for us to see. And these emergency bandanas are special gas masks that help protect any wearer from not only dust and gas, but also smoke and gases. But this spray, mixed with normalizing shampoo, laundry detergent, dish soap, dandruff shampoo, and a hint of deodorant, cleans up anyone who didn't bathe or shower whether the power is cut off or the water is turned off. And, trust me, all of these items are very important for our whole neighborhood." The whole class cheered for him. "Excellent work!" said Daphne. "A B+ for helping yourself with new inventions." Later, having school day ended, Bella and her posse drove by and noticed Jason with a B+ for completing his inventions, much to their anger. "What??" she yelled. "Not fair!"... and several of my other stories.
