Description
For starters this is something I had never done in the past. The idea came to me while I was at work, so I googled a few images of the Immaculate Conception and decided to make my own. This is loosely based on Murillo's version.[link]
For this I used Corel Painter 11 which I'm starting to get fond of :3
I used airbrushes and blenders, nothing that special. I sort of altered the tones with Corel Photopaint and then this is the final result.
Since this is my first serious attempt to used this software and paint like this, there are a bunch of things I certainly dislike about this painting.
The original was in pencils and I painted directly over them (after having scanned the image of course).
I don't know what else to add.

I very much like the clothing you drew. The face appears a bit to smooth aqnd the right eye (seen from the observer) is a little too big (as it is a CG, you could still fix that by just cutting out the eye and resizing it a bit smaller, by the way. I often do that myself and call it 'digital cosmetic surgery' XD). But all in all, the expression looks cool. Good job with some tiny faults
