look, if you went through rape, i, like everyone else, am sorry, but there is nothing that we can rally do. it is sometimes best to leave your personal experiances out of comments though, expressing a point o view is wonderful and there is nothing wrong with that, but an arguement will only turn ppl off, and they are not verry likely to continue listening to you. Everyone is aware how serious rape is in our society, but a comic is not serious and therefor not to be taken in a serious way. talking about rape in a comic is not the issue, it is in the real world where you find the issue.

You know, it's a comic. Kay? It was ment to make people laugh. If it didn't make you laugh, suck it up. I don't think that he's going to get rid of this, or change the words, just because you don't like it. You're going to be running into a LOT of things you don't like, so instead of stopping to critisize them, pretend you never saw it, and move on. Chances are, if someone posted something like this, knowing what it said, and knowing what it ment, they could really give to shakes of a rat's ass about what you think. I completely agree with you but sadly most of the world doesn't see it that way. I know what its like to be raped tortured and abuse for 5 years of my life but no mater how hard you try if the person has not also gone through it they will not understand what it does to your mind. I am not saying that you shouldn't be offended by things like this I am also very offended but trying to make stupid people understand what its like is a lost cause humans suck

The second you start telling people they shouldn't make fun of a certain subject because it offends certain people you're pretty much going against freedom of speech. I know that's a trite and tired argument but it's completely relevent in this situation. There's an old quote "While I may not agree with what you say, I will defend to the death your right to say it."
I was fine with your argument until you said "it's damn hard to change the stupid mentality of many." I don't think you realize how ignorant that statement is. By saying it you're only reinforcing the will of the people you're insulting to find humor in the subject you're defending. Just because a "mentality" someone has isn't something you agree with doesn't mean it's stupid.
Justflyakite wasn't advocating the rape of others, he was using the rape statement to show what an asshole the circle character is. After all, he did just get a cube to launch himself off a hill.
The act of raping someone is not something anyone in their right mind would point and laugh at, but in the context it was written in, I don't think your comments were justified.

They didn't express it as a positive thing. It was negative thing. In the context, however, it's funny.
I thought the comic was funny. Doesn't mean if my friend was raped I would laugh at her/him. I laugh when someone is killed in a comic. If someone was killed in front of me, I wouldn't laugh.
My point is, murder is more serious than rape. If you're going to complain about a small rape joke, you might as well go and complain to all the people drawing violence.

I don't know what the word "banal" means, so I didn't bother commenting on that part.
I think it's worse to take a life from someone than to have sex with them (even if they say no). I firmly believe our only purpose is to pass on our genes, so perhaps knowing this fact about me could make you understand my point of view on this a little better. It sounds awful when said out loud, though.
Then what is the problem with them making a joke about it? If you've been raped yourself, I could see why you might be upset about it, but if you haven't, then I really don't see the point in you being upset over a joke.
You have the right to complain about people being raped, sure. You have the right to say what's on your mind, as long as what's on your mind doesn't hurt someone. Since you have the right to complain, they have the right to make the joke. So why complain that they have the same rights you do?

If it hurt you, then stop looking at it, and find something to cheer yourself up. If it seriously bothers you that much, find a counselor to talk to (I'm not calling you mental, or saying you have problems. It's always good to find someone you can talk to who would know the right kind of response, like a counselor would. Just clearing this up since it could be taken the wrong way).
