Description
I typically leave the exposure time to be the quickest possible and aperture to be as narrow as possible then adjust the flash depending on the conditions. A major downside of this approach is that I have to do a test shot to see if more/less light is needed. I was shooting in the direction of the sun, so I knew I needed a full blast from the flash or there would be a ton of shadows. This shot was the lighting test, the only shot there was because Tiger Beetle took off immediately after. The subject was in direct sunlight which made the iridescence look galactic.
