So The Umbrella Academy is worth a watch. Without spoiling anything, I've never seen a show, or anything for that matter use this many cliches and generic story arcs, and string them together in such an interesting way that it's still enjoyable. A perfect example of this is in one scene, a character looks over a balcony in shock. It's bet-all-my-money obvious there's going to be a message written in blood there. Which there was. But what happens next is one of the funniest moments in the whole show. Now this is more of a season 1 problem, as by season 2, most of the "boohoo daddy hated us"/character relationship baggage is out of the way, and they can actually grow in interesting directions. Many times I could tell the writers looked at a scenario and went, "what's the most interesting way this could play out," and then went with it(and I have no knowledge of the comics whatsoever so idk who that's giving credit to). But a lot of times it felt like things only happened to move the story forward. So many problems could've been resolved if the characters just talked for 3 more lines. This is why I really didn't like Vanya for most of season 1. But don't let me almost getting into spoilers distract you from the fact that THIS PAINTING IS IN BLACK AND WHITE INSTEAD OF COLOR BECAUSE I'M STILL RUNNING FROM WHAT I HAVE TO DO. Anyways if you watched Umbrella Academy lmk what you thought.
