As mentioned during the Sun and Moon days, Klefki is one fo my favorite Fairy types (though back then, I said it was my favorite non-legendary Fairy type as that spot had been taken by Tapu Koko. Now I think that Grimmsnarl is my favorite Fairy Type overall). I would have never thought that GameFreak would use a key ring as a Pokemon, at least when regarding their new type. I could understand if this was a Ghost type since ghosts are known to possess objects but a fairy, it's weird but adorable at the same time. I like how it holds on to keys it likes but to a point where it will never give them back.
I had meant to shiny hunt one in Shield but I never got around to it, though I was pleased to hear that Klefki made it into Gen 9 and with the new methods, I could find it so much faster. I had manipulated the time to force an outbreak of Klefki at Alfornada and got to work. Sadly, I lost count at how many I had knocked out so I auto battled them until I was notified that the number in the outbreak had definietly gotten lower so I checked every single one. Afraid that I had missed my chance, I made a Steel encounter sandwich and once again, checked every Klefki that spawned in. Thankfully, it didn't take long, about 10 minutes, catching this adorable Pokemon in a Premiere Ball. I know the name KeyChain may be a bit generic, but it works. Love this thing. Easily one of my top 10 Kalos Pokemon and the first to ever have the OP type of Steel/Fairy.
