Howdy everyone.

I know, I know. "Dude, this is the third Lilligant art you posted this month!" What can I say? I got hit hard with inspiration, and Lilligant is bringing it all out of me.

But yeah, went and made another Lilligant art. But as you may notice, this is much different from any Lilligant that you likely have seen. You would be correct to assuming that this is indeed a custom design based on a plausible regional variant for said Pokemon.

To go in a bit more detail, this Lilligant I plan to be one of the regional variant that I plan to feature within what is likely to be a long term side project of mine. That being to create a custom region of my own. I'm of course, a long way off from accomplishing that, but this is likely to be the first step into doing so. If any of you seem interested in the idea, I would happily continue with the idea.

I'll likely be working on it for a while, so bare with me. But that's all for now, I'll leave you with this recording message I found laying around. Have a good day.

"... Okay, let's begin. Our first subject for today's discussion is the regional variant of a well know Pokemon, Lilligant. Here in the Ricoris Region, these Lilligant are indigenous to the archipelago and are beloved by both people and Pokemon alike. Sadly, things haven't been all sunshine for the species. In the last 100 years, many invasive species of Pokemon have been brought on to the region, whether it be intentionally or not. One of said species happens to be a variant of the Pokemon called Durant, coming from a far off region. These Durant have been causing havoc to the fragile ecosystem and are directing targeting Lilligant as a result, worse yet, there's no natural predators like Heatmor in their native range here on the main island to help manage their numbers."

"Some would suggest to introduce a predator to this region to help with that, but I would argue against that. They did the same over at Alola and look at how that went, Yungoos and Gumshoos everywhere and the Raratta are still a problem! Ahem... Sorry for the outburst."

"But I believe we have an answer to this situation, as we don't even have to bring any foreign Pokemon over for this. With advances in genetic modification, we can turn the usually defenseless Lilligant and have it become the ideal predator to control the Durant population that way. It has taken us years to get where we are today, turning such a passive Pokemon into a predator wasn't easy. We had to insert some Dna sample from various other Pokemon species like Swalot, Muk, Salazzle, ect. But, today we have managed to actually succeed in doing so. Testing are still ongoing in regards to successfully introducing this specimen into the wild, but now only a matter of when. If everything goes well, we can help save the species from certain doom."

"This is Professor Hiniscis, signing out- CRASH!! What the? What's going on!?"

"Ma'am, the specimen is making an escape for it!"

"Ugh, I told you to make the walls acid proof! Find it before it gets out!"
