Description

* Update (Sep 6): Okay the mod has some quirks (detailed below) but since I don't have the time to fix everything, I'll just put up the download and let you guys play with it. Pro tip: If an app has graphical glitches, add it to one of the block lists in menufela.m

* Update (Jul 17): Found a handful of awkward bugs I'll have to sort out (or work around) before uploading the files. (Also, starting to doubt anyone besides me will want to use their OSX without window title bars, even though my setup really works quite nicely.)

I'm in a bit of a hurry, so I'll just put this out there.

(Yep, all new tweaks are functioning amazingly well.)

If you're new to my stuff, start here . Check out my whole gallery (and read through all comments) before asking for technical support. Most of this stuff is already explained somewhere.

How to install:

1) Install  Minimal Theme for Mavericks (Follow the instructions carefully!)

2) Disable shadows using one of the many tools out there (e.g. ShadowKiller)

3) Drag the heavily modded menufela.bundle (included in the .zip on this page) to EasySIMBL

Pro tips:

1) If you're not familiar enough with Xcode to tweak the plugin to meet your specific needs, this theme is not for you.

2) The plugin will cause graphical glitches in certain apps. I've added several apps with annoying glitches to the block lists (in menufela.m). When you encounter more of these, A) keep calm and add them to the appropriate block lists, and B) refrain from spamming the comments with complaints. (Sorry but I don't have the time to fix this stuff for you.)

3) I have made heavy modifications to the original plugin, which you can find  here. Compare the codes to see what I've altered, and what features I've disabled. (E.g. if you want the mouse follow feature back, just uncomment the appropriate snippets.)

4) Window border size, shape, color -- pretty much everything you can think of -- is changeable through the source. For flat theming enthusiasts, it's really a dream come true!

5) Obviously, the lack of title bars makes moving the windows challenging. My preferred way to do it is through BetterTouchTool (using a tip-tap gesture for the action "Start/Stop moving"). Lots of other ways out there; be creative! (And you can always bring back title bars if you only want the borders.)

6) To make Safari tabs show properly, select Show Tab Bar (with one tab open) and restart the app.

did you border the windows with menufela? in flavours you can border the contextual menus but I'm struggling to find the corresponding icons in either the artfile or sartfile

Looks great! What SIMBL plugins are you using exactly?

Thanks! The main plugin that differentiates this theme from my other themes is a heavily modded version of this one: github.com/caffo/menufela

My modded version has some bugs I haven't managed to fix so I probably won't be putting up a download soon...

I suggest you check out the original plugin, mod it to your liking, and make sure the bugs / graphical glitches you are left with are ones that don't bother you personally HTH

Thanks! I can't seem to get the bundle to compile properly though, I keep getting errors about garbage collection being deprecated (Xcode 5.1.1, target OS 10.9), any idea why?

Changed my mind and released the plugin (with a long list of caveats)

Lemme know how it works for you.

IIRC you need to tick one of the gazillion build options. Google should give you the exact one.

Some of the themes, skins and plugins do, some don't. There's too many of them to make a comprehensive list. Read through my stuff and you'll figure out which do and which don't.
