Better keep an eye on her - give her a few years and she'll be throwing herself in front of bulldozers! Well, hopefully not - it seems that kind of protesting really doesn't work anymore... (although, it looks like protesting to save this tree might be a little pointless. It looks like it has seen better days)
Wow, from cute child portraits to hippies in less than a minute! That's gotta be a record for me, and that's saying something!
Ha, there's my humour again! It's been a long week... Nice shot!

lol, hilarious! Yes, the scene from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy comes to mind, ever read that? The movie was not that good in my opinion.
And yes, the tree has seen better days because it's actually a fence pole

I saw the movie, but I haven't read the book (yet). I didn't think so much of the movie either... But, I know the scene you mean! I can only imagine that, it being funny in the movie, that it would be hilarious in the book!
Hmm... I did have an inkling suspicion that maybe the tree was... Expired? It's an ex-tree, shall we say? So, she's practicing on the less risky trees then.

yes, she's playing safe Hey, were you just referring to the Monty Python sketch with the ex-parrot or is that just my twisted humor?

Ha! No, actually, and yes your sense of humour must be twisted to understand my jokes! I had completely forgotten about that sketch...
"The Norwegian Blue? What's wrong with it?"... Ha! I must stop at that!

lol, right, the Norwegian Blue haha, I forgot about the name! "It has ceased to be, it has gone to meet its maker... This is an ex-parrot!" God, I love John Cleese...

I heard that he doesn't actually act - he just plays himself, and drives most co-actors completely nuts! So, maybe he really *is* so British! I wonder if he hates Germans as much as he made out in Faulty Towers? (laughs)

oh really, now that's a shame, then no wonder he drives his co-actors crazy, that tense behaviour could drive anyone crazy...
I think Germans aren't really popular in England which is quite funny because most Germans love the British It's unreturned love I guess. It's also - embarassing, but true - a football thing. Pathetic but there you go.
I'm planning on getting Fawlty Towers on DVD for Andrew's birthday, I think it's hilarious. So don't you ever mention the war to me, lol.

That really is weird - I guess I'll never understand you Europeans. Down here you either get on with someone or you don't - it's much simpler that way!
Yeah, the family bought me a DVD with a few episodes for my birthday when I was in my final year of high school - good for breaking up the study routine. There are a few recurring jokes in there that keep coming up in the kitchen at work - "You put Basil in Ratatouille?!" Gotta love Andrew Sachs!

yeah, he's great I'm actually thinking about calling our next dog Basil. Or Cosmo like Cosmo Kramer in Seinfeld, although the actor apparently is a racist which really ruined the name for me...

Ha! Interesting names! Our older dog is called Shep - ever seen George of the Jungle? We didn't name him though, but it does suit him!
It's a shame to hear that someone as famous as... whatever his name is (yeah, so famous I don't even know his name) in the 21st century could have racist views like that. It just doesn't have a place in society any more.

George of the Jungle? Isn't that the movie with Pauly Shore? Can't remember that one, really...
I think his name is Michael Richards and apparently he was doin stand-up comedy in a club and he called a black dude in the audience the n-word. Horrible.
Anyway, that really spoiled the name for me...

Don't think so - the main roles were played by Brendan Fraser and Leslie Mann, with John Cleese as the voice for an 'Ape named Ape'. It's more of a kids film (based on a cartoon series years ago by the same name) - it came out when I was 7 and thought it was hilarious then. I won't bore you with the entire plot; my original point was that 'George', who was lost in the Congo when he was little and raised by 'Ape' - a philosophic gorilla who talks and reads and grows roses... I'm digressing again! George had a pet elephant called 'Shep' , who our dog was named after by his previous owners...
Well, that movie's still good for cheap laughs; it's just such a goofy movie with a simple plot and full of comical stereotypes.
Sounds like Mr. Richards tries too hard to be funny and the center of attention but fails really hard. I hope he was just trying to be funny and didn't mean anything behind it (often happens); doesn't excuse the fact that it happened in the first place. Ultimately it was just cheap and nasty; I favour the comedians that can make fun of themselves rather than feel the need to pick on their audience.
We really can pick topics eh?!

yeah, our topics kick ass!
I think the guys from Seinfeld are all really full of themselves, especially Mr Seinfeld and Richards is just your typical artsy-fartsy actor I guess. He's either really a racist or a damn idiot for not knowing where the limit is.
Brendan Fraser? Ah ok, he played with Pauly Shore in a couple of movies, sometimes I forget in which. I should see that again You know that's great when you have kids, you can buy the biggest 80ies crap from your own childhood and claim it's for the offsprings, yeah!
I don't think that anyone in the history of DA managed to bring George out of the jungle and racism together in one thread, well done, mate!

Well, I'm guessing that, judging by his 'type', that he's just stupid. Hope I'm right!
Ha! Yeah, Mum 'n' Dad buy a lot of movies from their childhoods now - but they just don't seem as funny as they remember them to be. Interesting to see just how much society has changed in those few, short decades though. But, I've a feeling that I'll probably be doing the same thing! And make *my* kids sit through it while I either laugh really hard or just pretend to...
(laughs) I wonder why I'm the first! Hmm... But, quite an achievement none-the-less! Thanks for noticing! I'm quite proud of it now!
