Good idea, I've mentioned the same thing to people but maybe seeing it will make it easier to understand.

Yeah, it's kind of an odd concept to grasp since most art is 2D, and it doesn't help that typical art teachers in high school and below don't explain the why.

Unfortunately, most of us start the same way. Just drawing the outline and guessing at where lines should go.

I took ceramics in high school and drafting in Junior high as well as grew up with someone who made furniture. I guess I'm just used to thinking that way. I always see the shape when I look at something.
