Mephiles isn't really all powerful like his brother Iblis(who's the body and strength of Solaris), Mephiles is the mind and consciousness. Mephiles maybe a master manipulator getting Silver and Blaze to do his work, but he's cowardly like how he incapacitated Sonic...not kill from behind his back.
Mephiles is also weak against light based attacks like Shadow's chaos spear...and those of you who don't know Eclipse too well his powers of Chaos energy is identical too the black hedgehog.
Like the time Eclipse had nullified Shadow's chaos control
