Description Control is when ... deed is done from desire, not dependence.

When actions and decision become independently derived from the internal elements named jealousy, indulgence, pride, wrath, insecurities, fears, etc. which all crave illusive sense of "control" and act on desperation and as necessities, would the person have true control over their desires. Otherwise, what they claim as control is merely an illusion.

--

It first started as a mechanism of expressing frustration and concerns with intention of doing so into an artwork, for a somewhat melodramatic reasoning. However this constant practice ended up removing the "dependence" portion because the focus was more on the resulting artwork than the act of impulsion. So now the practice is more associated to the artwork rather than a necessity of relief, providing a somewhat weaning effect from the dependence habit. The weaning has been repeated till this day since this piece was created and at this point in time, it almost removed the initial intention I gave it. While in aspects of health, this is great, but this wasn't my long term intention, so I am kind of disappointed.

It's not so much that I cannot draw in this medium, but it's source of motivation has changed. The essence of the artwork relies on the very concept of habitual dependence and emotional distress, yet now it's slowly missing these elements. Supposedly this is trade-off for intending to make this a serious artwork; the habit transformed into the source of artwork instead of as a coping mechanism.

While urges are still present, the resulting habit has been practiced into something else. Probably not exactly a healthy alternative in whole, but it's definitely better than having unhealthy dependencies.
This is one of the better pieces with strong colors, drawn 12/15/13.

Can't do much about the annoying crumbles on the paper. This wasn't exactly watercolor material paper.
