Rodan
Supersonic Pterosaur

Rodan, dubed by Shigeru Kawamura, head of security at the mine in Kitamatsu, first incountered thist creature in 1956. The first true siting was when one destroyed a jet that had been reporting about the creature around Mt. Aso. Soon, other sitings of the creature showed up in China to England. Back in Japan though, Meganulon had been sited attacking people around the mine. Shigeru and the police had found the mine workers corpses that had been attacked by the monstourus insects. When the mine collapesed, Shigeru was trapped with the insects.

Elsewhere, a newly married couple dissapeared, as well as several heads of cattle around Mt. Aso. When the authorities developed the film from the newly wed's camera, they descovered a photograph of what appeared to be a gigantic wing. Soon Shigeru's memories returned, thanks to his fiance Kiyo and a hatching egg from her pet birds. He told that when he was down in the mine, he encounterd dozens of Meganulon and a giant egg. When the bird emerged from the egg, it began to eat the giant insects. Once all the Meganulon were gone, the beast opened it's wings and roared.

Later, Rodan had begun a dog fight with the air force and began to attack Sosebo. Soon a second Rodan is found heading to the city and the two flying titans thrash the city.
When the millitary learned that the Rodan's home was Mt. Aso, they decided to cause the volcano to erupt, as it had been showing signs of activity. When they began their attack the two birds took flight, but were over taken by the fumes and plumeted together. The infant was believed to have died with them...or so they thought. Even without Godzilla around, dissaray seems to come in other forms.

Later, because of Rodan's parents being killed, caused the pterosaur to become very distant from the other monsters of Earth. Though he has helped Godzilla in the past, it is only when the King is at his limit does Rodan appear.

Flight at mach 5 that is able to create sonic blasts
Able to create hurricane sized winds from wings
Spiked torso for close combat
